Ben employed back in the late 70's by the the late, Ricardo Bordallo, former "Governor of Guam" to be a part of the "Governor's Youth Band" made out of the best "High School Best Orchestrated Musicians" performing their duties by accommodating the Governor's dignitaries arriving from foreign countries to the island of Guam for an official meeting, gathering or just business though music selection by our Music Director, the late, Mr George Toal. 

Our responsibilities as a youth band member of the "Governor's Youth Band" (GYB) was to perform and entertain Officials and their guest compliments from the Governor of Guam. "The Governor's Youth Band" was funded by the Government of Guam Educational program. The "GYB" traveled to many parts of the countries.

We were invited by an official from the United State presidential staff to participate in the 1978 inauguration for 39th President of the United States Jimmy Carter, president of the United States from 1977-1981. The experience at the "White House" was overwhelming and memorable for us Youth Band Member's. The year, 1979, at the opening of the new  "Grand Hotel" in Saipan (The Northern Marianas) during the election Governor of "The Common Wealth of Northern Marianas" playing for inauguration ceremony. The New Governor of CNMI was hosted at the Grand Hotel where the GYB welcome their stay at the Grand Hotel.

Join the United States Army to serve and protect our great country America" June 12 1979 and travel the world. Four years of serving United States Army as a light/heavy wheel vehicle mechanic. Sent to Non Commission Officer academy and promoted as a, Sargeant E5, 2 years into his service. Ben finish his four year term ETS (Expired Time of Services) and was honorably discharge June 11 1983. 

Ben moved to the beautiful city of Monterey, California. Work in (Ft Ord, Ca. US Army Infantry base) work temporary light wheel vehicle mechanic for six months. Transferred to another area working and assisting small engines as a mechanic.

Sold Kirby vacum cleaners for 7 years. Seaside, Marina, Salinas and Gilroy Ca. Rep to Area Distributor.
Work for KASS Mgmt for 4 years, then, became the food driver transporting perishable and non-perishable items for 4 different dining facilities for the rest of the remainding 3 years at KASS Mgmt. Got involve with variety musical groups and individual's.

"Tropic Topics" a five piece chamorro band for ten years. Playing the best top forties, chamorro and variety of genre's. 40 to 50 piece Big Bands (volunteer only), Trio Jazz Groups and a local 13 piece top forty bands playing the keyboard, guitar and saxophone. Performing in many clubs, corporate events, fundraisers, charities, senior communities and private events. Our "Trio Jazz Quartet" open up for the many recording artists for the "Monterey Jazz Festival". 

Miles Davis, Spyro-Gyra, Tower of Power and many of the late and great all-time Jazz players. Got the Opportunity to meet and play with Grammy Award winning, Incredible Latin Guitarist "Carlos Santana" in San Francisco in a Hotel. 

Shortly 1992 move southern California to beautiful city , Oceanside, California lived with sister Rita (san Diego county), there meeting my beautiful and loving lady, my wife June M Lizama.

While in Oceanside and San Diego meeting  great, famous , talented and local great recording artist performing in major concert and venue's. Now, I have added a part of my entertainment, as a, Disc Jockey, on top of LIVE performances.
Through the years I've been request for studio recording time laying tracks with my saxophone's (Soprano, Alto and Tenor) for churches, Jazz groups and for all-time recording greats. Lou Rawls, Sonrise Baptist church music ministry, Carlos Santana and many incredible musical artists. This experience has brought me to recording my own album in title, "Chamoru Yu" meaning "I am Chamorro" beginning 2010.


Two years later created a new Ep album "Hunggan Magahet" release in March 2012. This particular album was motivated culturally for the Chamoru's single outrigger the "PROA" the "SAKMAN" Chelu built right here in El Cajon, Ca. by our local chamoru's here in the mainland,  Guam and the CNMI Islands. Master builder "Mariano Borja"  retired military Air officer and the hands of chamoru's and other who volunteer with helping hands to built this historical single outrigger "Proa", callled the Sakman.

The inspiration of these albums was motivated through my father's musical talent and mentoring in my life, Vicente C. Lizama and my family and many friends and fans. Thank you for the many support and LOVE.
